Russia has accused Ukraine of not following a ceasefire agreement. The Russian ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, made this claim after several countries, including Slovenia, Denmark, France, Greece, and the UK, asked Russia to agree to a full and unconditional ceasefire.
Slovenia’s UN ambassador, Samuel Zbogar, said Ukraine wants peace and showed this by agreeing to a complete ceasefire five weeks ago. However, during recent UN talks, Russia refused to accept the ceasefire.
At the same time, Ukraine is working on rebuilding its country. The Ukrainian economy minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, announced that Ukraine signed a “memorandum of intent” with the United States. This agreement aims to create an investment fund to help rebuild Ukraine.
Former US President Donald Trump also mentioned that a minerals deal between the two countries would be signed next Thursday. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent added that the deal could be finalized this weekend.
This shows that while tensions remain high with Russia, Ukraine continues to move forward with international partnerships for recovery.
