Nigerian rapper Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, better known as Phyno, has denied rumors that he sold his estate in Lagos and advised Igbos not to invest in Yoruba land.
The rumor started after a journalist with the Twitter handle JustSociety4All claimed Phyno sold his N10 billion estate to a businessman from Libya. The post also said Phyno regretted building in Lagos and wanted to move the estate to Enugu, claiming Igbos are not welcome in Yoruba land. The tweet was later deleted.
According to the journalist, Phyno reportedly said, “The last election opened my eyes. The hatred towards Igbos is something that seems like it will last forever.”
But Phyno reacted strongly to the report. He called it a complete lie and asked the journalist what they hoped to gain from spreading false information.
Phyno wrote on social media, “You are a fool for cooking up this type of lie!!! Where are you heading with this? Anwu nta.”
He made it clear that he did not sell his estate and never made those statements about Igbo people or Yoruba land.
