Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana was reportedly shocked when he found out his wages were cut after the team missed out on qualifying for the Champions League.
The 29-year-old from Cameroon has had a tough season. Things got worse when he was dropped from the starting lineup and replaced by Altay Bayindir in their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United.
Onana showed up at training recently with his agent, possibly to talk about a transfer. There are strong rumors that he could move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.
According to The Athletic, Onana didn’t expect the wage cut and spoke with former sporting director Dan Ashworth about it. The lower pay, combined with being benched, has left him frustrated and possibly open to leaving the club.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romano mentioned on his YouTube channel that the Saudi League has shown interest in Onana for a while. He had chances to go there while playing for Inter Milan but chose Manchester United instead, wanting to live his dream of playing for the club.
However, with things not going well at United, a summer move could be on the way, and the Saudi League might be his next destination.
