Olivier Giroud, a former Arsenal and Chelsea striker, has shared his thoughts on the recent rumors about Paul Pogba possibly joining Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
Giroud and Pogba know each other well from their time playing together on the French national team. Pogba is now a free agent after his 18-month doping ban ended earlier this year in January.
Lately, there have been reports linking Pogba to a move to Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer (MLS). However, Giroud believes Pogba might not make the switch to the U.S. just yet.
Speaking in an interview with Telefoot, Giroud said he was happy to see Pogba again but feels the midfielder still has the drive to compete in Europe.
“I was really happy to see him, but I think he has to get used to staying in Europe,” Giroud said. “To be honest with you, I think he has that ambition.”
Although Giroud himself now plays in the MLS for Los Angeles after leaving AC Milan, he believes Pogba still wants to prove himself in European football.
As of now, Pogba’s next move remains uncertain, but fans will be watching closely to see where he ends up.
