UCL: They can’t qualify – Rio Ferdinand predict Real Madrid vs Arsenal second leg

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has shared his thoughts on the upcoming UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg between Real Madrid and Arsenal.

After Arsenal’s stunning 3-0 win in the first leg at the Emirates, Ferdinand believes it will be very hard for Real Madrid to qualify for the next round. The goals from Declan Rice and Mikel Merino gave the Gunners a big advantage.

To reach the semi-finals, Real Madrid must score at least four goals at home in the second leg. However, Ferdinand doubts they can do it.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said, “I don’t think Real Madrid can win this tie. They don’t keep clean sheets, and that’s a big problem. They’d need to score five goals to win it outright or four to force penalties. I don’t think that’s possible because Arsenal will probably score at the Bernabeu.”

Even though Real Madrid has a history of amazing comebacks — like against Chelsea in 2021-22 and Bayern Munich last season — Ferdinand doesn’t believe it will happen this time.
