Former Chelsea star John Mikel Obi believes the club must do everything they can to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Last summer, Chelsea tried to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge but couldn’t agree on his wages. Since then, Osimhen has been on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray, where he has scored 27 goals and made five assists in 32 matches.

Chelsea are still looking for a strong striker to play alongside Nicolas Jackson. However, reports say the club isn’t planning to go after Osimhen this summer.

Mikel Obi says it would be a big mistake not to sign the talented forward.

Speaking on the Obione podcast, Mikel said, “It would be really sad if we miss out on a player who supported Chelsea as a kid and wants to play for us. Drogba is his hero. He wants to break records, win trophies, and bring Chelsea back to the top.”

Mikel also said it’s not too late. “We know where things ended. We can just call him and bring him in. Get him in!”
