Bundesliga: Boniface misses Leverkusen training ahead Union Berlin clash

Bayer Leverkusen’s striker Victor Boniface did not take part in training on Tuesday due to illness.

Despite missing the session, he is still likely to be fit for the weekend game against Union Berlin, according to a report from Werkself Xtra.

Boniface, a Nigerian international, played in Leverkusen’s recent win over Heidenheim. The 24-year-old has struggled with injuries this season, which has affected the number of games he has played.

So far, he has scored 8 goals in 17 Bundesliga matches this season.

Leverkusen, managed by Xabi Alonso, will play Union Berlin at home on Saturday. They are currently second in the Bundesliga table, six points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
