EPL: Southampton manager Ivan Juric leaves club after relegation confirmed

Southampton manager Ivan Juric has left the club after their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed on Sunday.

Juric, who is from Croatia, was only in charge for 108 days. During that time, Southampton lost 12 of the 14 Premier League games they played.

According to football reporter Fabrizio Romano, Juric used a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave if the team was relegated.

Southampton became the first team to go down from the Premier League this season after losing 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur. To stay in the league, they needed to avoid defeat and hoped that Wolves would either lose or draw against Ipswich.

But that didn’t happen. A late goal from Jorgen Strand Larsen gave Ipswich a win, and Southampton’s loss in London confirmed their drop to the Championship.

After 31 games, Southampton only had 10 points and a goal difference of -51. They have only won 2 games and drawn 4 this season, making it one of the worst records after 30 games in Premier League history.
