Actor Sylvester Madu denies selling Okrika

Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu, also known as Shina Rambo, has spoken out about a rumour that he sells second-hand clothes, also known as okrika. This rumour started after a video from 2023 showed him selling clothes on the floor at a market in Enugu.

In a recent interview with media host Patience Yisa, Madu said he is not an okrika seller. He explained that just because the clothes were displayed on the floor doesn’t mean they were second-hand.

Madu said he imports brand-new clothes from the United States and owns several clothing shops. He also mentioned that his workers help run the shops, but he enjoys being hands-on and sometimes helps with sales himself because he doesn’t like being idle.

He said, “I don’t sell okrika. The clothes in that video are not second-hand. I import new clothes from the U.S. I have many shops and people who sell for me, but I also sell because I like being active. I’ve been doing this for more than 30 years.”

Madu made it clear that he is proud of his business and doesn’t pretend to be a “big man.” He believes in working hard and staying involved in his business.
