Mourinho handed 3-game ban for attacking Galatasaray manager

Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has been banned from the touchline for three matches after a strange incident with Galatasaray’s coach, Okan Buruk.

The event happened right after Fenerbahce lost the Turkish Super Cup to Galatasaray. Mourinho walked up behind Buruk and pinched his nose, which made Buruk fall to the ground.

According to Goal, the Turkish Football Federation gave Mourinho a three-game suspension. They originally considered a longer ban—between five and ten games—but decided to lower it. Reports say Buruk may have provoked Mourinho after the final whistle.

This is Mourinho’s second ban of the year. Back in February, he was banned for four games after making racist remarks towards the Galatasaray bench.

It seems Mourinho’s time in Turkey is already full of drama, both on and off the pitch.
