Benue: Gov Alia meets Och’Idoma, stakeholders, vows to end killings in Otukpo

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has promised to end the ongoing killings in Otukpo and other parts of Zone C. He made this known during a recent visit to the area, where he met with traditional rulers and local stakeholders to talk about how to make the region safer.

During his visit, the governor also went to comfort the family of a young man who was recently killed by unknown attackers in his home. He said his government is ready to take serious steps to protect people and their property.

“I want everyone in Benue to know that we are serious about fixing security problems and making our communities peaceful again,” Governor Alia said.

He explained that the meeting with traditional rulers was just the start of a wider plan to bring back peace. He also stressed the importance of everyone working together to stop the violence.

“This is the beginning of a strong and practical plan to keep our homes and families safe,” he added.

The governor asked people in Benue to stay united and help each other in these difficult times. He said the safety of citizens will always be his government’s top priority.

But not long after his visit, there was another attack. Gunmen hijacked a Benue Links bus near Ikobi and kidnapped all the passengers. Sadly, two people were killed. Also, a security guard was killed by suspected herdsmen at the Otobi Dam.

These fresh attacks have made people even more worried about the safety situation in the area. A local lawmaker, Angbo Kennedy, is now asking residents to protect themselves since the attacks keep happening.
