Akpabio, Bello used fake constituents to initiate my recall process – Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello of orchestrating a plot to remove her from office using fake constituents. She insists that the recall process is politically motivated and part of an ongoing vendetta against her.

On Tuesday, supporters from all five local government areas in Kogi Central gathered in Ihima, Okehi LGA, to welcome Natasha despite a government ban on rallies. The overwhelming support for her, she says, proves that the recall attempt does not reflect the true will of the people.

In a statement on Wednesday, the senator challenged Bello to explain where he got the names of those calling for her recall. She pointed out that this move is just another attempt by Bello to undermine her, just as he allegedly attacked her during the 2023 general election.

Natasha also criticized the former governor for focusing on political battles instead of addressing the corruption allegations against him. She referenced the alleged diversion of N89.2 billion and urged Bello to clear his name rather than disrupt the mandate given to her by the people.

According to her, the people of Kogi Central have shown that they stand with her. She emphasized that she will continue working for them and will not betray their trust.

“The people rejected injustice, oppression, and this fake recall attempt. Their support has only grown stronger, while our opponents have lost credibility,” she said.

Natasha reassured her supporters that she remains committed to serving them and will continue to provide strong representation in the Senate.
