Trump thanks President Bukele for taking in criminals expelled from US, knocks Biden

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly thanked El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele for accepting criminals deported from the United States.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized the administration of former President Joe Biden, blaming it for allowing these criminals to enter the U.S. in the first place.

“Thank you, President Bukele, of El Salvador, for taking the criminals that were so stupidly allowed, by the Crooked Joe Biden Administration, to enter our Country, and giving them such a wonderful place to live!” Trump wrote.

This comes after a recent operation in which 17 criminals linked to the Tren de Aragua gang and MS-13 were transferred to El Salvador’s high-security prison, the Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (Cecot). The transfer took place on Sunday night, with the U.S. military transporting the criminals.

Earlier in March, about 238 members of the Tren de Aragua gang had also been sent to the same prison under an agreement between the U.S. and El Salvador.

Trump’s statement highlights his continued focus on immigration policies and crime, a key issue in his political agenda.
