Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has confirmed that she will go ahead with her planned visit to her constituency for the Sallah celebration, despite a ban on public gatherings by the Kogi State Government.
She urged her supporters to ignore false reports claiming she had canceled the visit. In a statement released by her media team on Tuesday, she reassured the public that all necessary preparations have been made for a successful and peaceful event.
The government recently prohibited public gatherings, including fishing activities, citing security concerns. Officials reported that two people lost their lives in Kasemiya, Katubo, and Umozu Ette, all in Kogi Local Government Area.
However, Senator Natasha made it clear that no official announcement was made from her office about canceling her visit. She encouraged the community to join the celebration, promising a well-organized and joyous event.
Her decision to proceed with the visit shows her commitment to her people, even amid government restrictions.
