Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced that local government chairmen will undergo a performance review. This evaluation is part of his administration’s second-anniversary activities.
The governor shared this news while receiving a Sallah homage visit from the chairmen, led by Engineer Suleiman Ahmed Gangkuba, the chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State. The meeting took place at the Government House in Yola.
Governor Fintiri urged the chairmen to improve their leadership at the grassroots level, emphasizing the need for them to serve their communities effectively. He explained that his upcoming tour across the state will help him identify local development needs and ensure that governance remains effective.
“This evaluation will be part of my statewide tour to enhance governance and address key development issues,” Fintiri stated.
He also reminded the chairmen that political success requires dedication and experience. He hinted that his successor would be someone with strong grassroots knowledge and leadership skills.
In response, ALGON chairman Engineer Suleiman Gangkuba said their visit was to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with the governor and show their continued support for his administration. He praised Governor Fintiri’s leadership, describing him as a mentor and assuring him of their loyalty and cooperation.
