Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, has launched an agricultural empowerment program to support local farmers.
As part of this initiative, he provided essential farming materials such as fertilizers, fish ponds, piglets, palm seedlings, poultry feeds, day-old chicks, cassava stems, maize seedlings, and fingerlings.
During the event, Umeh, a member of the Labour Party, was joined by former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi. He announced that the first batch of the program benefited 520 farmers in Adazi Nnukwu.
He also assured that another round of empowerment would take place before the year ends, giving more farmers the opportunity to receive support.
This initiative aims to boost agriculture in the region and improve the livelihoods of farmers, ensuring food security and economic growth.
