Tinubu extends Immigration boss, Nandap’s tenure till 2026

President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Kemi Nandap’s tenure as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). She will now serve until December 31, 2026.

The announcement was made in a statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday.

Tinubu praised Nandap’s leadership, highlighting improvements in border security, modernization of immigration procedures, and overall national security.

“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service has made great progress in border management, modernizing immigration processes, and strengthening security,” the statement said.

The President urged her to remain committed to the service’s key goals, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Nandap has been with the NIS since October 9, 1989. She was appointed Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with an initial tenure set to end on August 31, 2025, before the extension.

Her leadership has been recognized for making significant contributions to Nigeria’s immigration system, and with this extension, she is expected to continue improving the service.
