A young Nigerian entrepreneur, Dinma, has set social media abuzz after announcing the purchase of her first car, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class. However, instead of celebrating with her, some social media users questioned how she could afford such a luxury vehicle.
Dinma, who owns a hair business, shared her exciting news on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, March 30. “I bought my first car,” she posted, expressing her joy.
Despite her success, some users doubted her source of income, implying that a man must have funded the purchase. One person commented, “Omo, what’s your true occupation? You and I know salary can’t buy this.” Another user, Ogbonna, added, “Can an average Nigerian woman afford a car? Not even a Toyota but a Mercedes? These people spend money on unnecessary things.”
In response to the criticisms, Dinma shut down the doubters with a powerful reply: “I don’t collect salary. I pay salaries.”
Her response resonated with many supporters who praised her for her hard work and determination. Her story serves as an inspiration to young entrepreneurs, proving that dedication and business success can lead to financial independence.
