Akpoti-Uduaghan, Husband Threaten Legal Action Against Senator Nwaebonyi Over Alleged Defamation

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, have threatened to take legal action against Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi over alleged defamatory statements.

Their lawyers have sent a formal letter demanding a public apology from Nwaebonyi within 14 days. If he fails to do so, they will proceed with a lawsuit.

The dispute arose after Nwaebonyi made comments during a TV interview on News Central TV. His remarks were also broadcast on DSTV, GOTV, Startimes, and AVO.

He allegedly claimed that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has a history of making false accusations of sexual harassment. Additionally, he suggested that her marriage to Chief Uduaghan was forced rather than based on love.

The couple’s lawyers described these statements as false and harmful to their reputations. They argue that the remarks were meant to damage their image, especially in political, business, and social circles.

The legal letter insists that these claims have caused public embarrassment and distrust.

The couple has given Nwaebonyi 14 days to issue a public apology on News Central TV and social media. If he refuses, they will take legal action to seek justice.

This case highlights the growing issue of defamation in politics and the legal steps individuals can take to protect their reputation.
