Notorious Bandit Kingpin, Dan Mudale, Police Officer And Six Others Killed In Zamfara

Security forces in Zamfara State successfully stopped an attack by bandits in Keta town, Tsafe Local Government Area, on Thursday, March 27. The operation led to the death of a feared bandit leader, Dan Mudale, who had been terrorizing the area.

According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Yazid Abubakar, many bandits were killed in the gunfight.

The spokesperson said: “At approximately 1540hrs, a good Samaritan reported that a large number of armed bandits had stormed Keta town with the intention of perpetrating inhumane acts.

“In response, a joint operation comprising the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, hunters, and Community Protection Guards mobilised and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle.”

However, one police officer, four Community Protection Guard members, and two hunters also lost their lives. Two other hunters were injured and are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.

The Zamfara State Police Command reassured residents of its commitment to restoring peace and urged them to report any suspicious activities to security agencies for quick action.
