Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has revealed why he vowed to destroy the Obidient Movement, a political group that supports Labour Party’s Peter Obi.
Speaking with News Central, Omokri said he took this decision because he saw Obi as his “project.” He claimed he played a key role in Obi becoming Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in the 2019 presidential election.
Omokri, a strong supporter of President Bola Tinubu, said members of the Obidient Movement attacked him and his family. According to him, they sent threats, followed his jogging routes, and even confronted him in the UK.
He explained that after Obi failed to address these threats, he decided to use his political influence to fight against the movement.
“I took a vow to destroy that movement because Peter Obi was a project of mine. I was responsible for him becoming Atiku’s running mate in 2019. But his supporters turned against me and even threatened my wife and child,” Omokri said.
Omokri insists he has proof of his involvement in Obi’s political rise and remains determined to weaken the Obidient Movement.
