Army troops arrest killers of Rev father in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army has captured the people responsible for the murder of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu, who was kidnapped and killed in Kaduna State.

According to Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, the Media Information Officer for Operation Safe Haven, the army carried out a raid on March 25, 2025, at a hideout in Ruga settlement, Warsa-Piti village, Lere Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State. During this operation, they arrested the main suspect, Pate Yau, a 33-year-old man.

During questioning, Yau confessed that he was hired to kidnap Reverend Father Okechukwu by Douglas Henry, a man who lived in the same house as the late priest. Acting on this information, the army arrested Douglas Henry in Agwan Sariki Tachira, Kaura LGA.

Both suspects are now in custody and undergoing further investigation. The Nigerian Army continues to work hard to improve security and prevent such crimes in the future.
