Woman who set up Britain’s top A-level private school is charged over £5million fraud

A woman who started one of the UK’s top private schools has been charged in connection with a £5 million fraud. Yasmin Sarwar, 43, founded Cardiff Sixth Form College in 2004, helping hundreds of students get into top universities.

However, financial issues were discovered at the school between 2012 and 2016. This led to an investigation by South Wales Police and the Charity Commission for England & Wales. As a result, Sarwar and two others, Nadeem Sarwar, 48, and Ragu Sivapalan, 39, are now facing charges.

Police confirmed that Yasmin Sarwar and Nadeem Sarwar have been charged with multiple theft and fraud offenses. Meanwhile, Sivapalan is accused of false accounting between 2013 and 2016.

The case is set to be heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.
