Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has dismissed reports that she apologized to the Nigerian Senate over her suspension. She called these claims false and misleading, reaffirming her position on the issue.

In a statement released on Monday, March 24, 2025, Akpoti-Uduaghan made it clear that she never issued an apology. She accused those spreading the reports of trying to mislead the public by distorting the truth.

The reports suggesting that I have apologized to the Senate and retracted my position are completely untrue. I stand firmly by my words and actions and have not issued any apology to the Senate or anyone regarding this matter,” she stated.

She was suspended from the Senate following a heated disagreement with the leadership. Despite the controversy, she remains firm in her stance and committed to defending the rights of her constituents.

The senator also expressed concern that some individuals were working to silence her voice in the National Assembly. She believes that the misinformation campaign is part of an effort to damage her reputation.

“I urge the public to disregard these rumours and publications as they do not represent my position. My commitment remains to truth, justice, and the people I represent.”

She urged Nigerians, especially her supporters, to be careful about fake news. She assured them that any official statements from her would only come from her verified channels.

Despite her suspension, Akpoti-Uduaghan has made it clear that she will not back down from her principles. She remains dedicated to representing the interests of her people and standing up for the truth.

I appreciate the support and solidarity of my people. Rest assured, I will continue to fight for what is right and just.”
