2027: Amaechi, El-Rufai, Kwankwaso, Wamakko, others should return to PDP to sack Tinubu – Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has urged opposition leaders to come together and focus on removing President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power. He advised them to set aside personal issues and emotions and work strategically to achieve their political goals.

Lamido made this call during a Ramadan gathering at his residence in Bamaina, Birninkudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State. The event brought together members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from across the state to discuss the country’s political situation.

He expressed concern over Nigeria’s struggling economy and accused the APC government of losing focus. He warned opposition politicians that to succeed, they must remain united and prioritize the country’s interests over personal grievances.

Lamido encouraged former PDP members who left for the APC to return, saying they had faced challenges in their new party. He assured them that coming back would not be shameful since the PDP was their original political home.

He specifically mentioned former governors and political figures like Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Aliyu Wamakko. He urged them to reunite with the PDP and work together to “rescue Nigeria from APC’s misrule.”

Lamido dismissed smaller parties like the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as ineffective in defeating Tinubu. He insisted that only the PDP had the strength and nationwide structure to challenge the ruling party.

According to him, a divided opposition cannot succeed. He believes that if former PDP members return and unite, they will have a better chance of winning future elections.
