Nasarawa United secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rangers in their NPFL matchday 30 clash at the Lafia City Stadium on Friday.
Speaking after the match, the team’s technical adviser, Salisu Yusuf, admitted that the game was challenging. He said his players were under pressure, especially because Rangers are one of the top teams in the league.
“Playing against a top-three team is always tough, especially considering our position on the table. Our players were anxious and felt the pressure,” Yusuf said.
He pointed out that Nasarawa United had several chances to score in the first half but failed to convert them. However, they managed to secure the win with a penalty.
“Rangers gave us a good fight. They had more rest than we did, which made things even harder. But in the end, it was a fantastic game,” he added.
The victory is a big boost for Nasarawa United as they continue their NPFL campaign.
