Popular rapper Kanye West is upset with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, over her control of their children. He recently spoke out about a planned music collaboration between their 11-year-old daughter, North West, and rapper Playboi Carti, who is 28 years old.
Kanye shared his frustration on social media, saying he does not like that Kim, a white woman, has authority over their Black children’s names and images. He questioned why she is making decisions about their daughter’s involvement in music without his input.
“So Kim got the name and likeness over my Black children,” Kanye wrote on X (formerly Twitter). He also called out celebrities who, in his opinion, try to provoke him.
Kanye, who has won 24 Grammy Awards, shares four children with Kim Kardashian—North (11), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (5). The former couple divorced in 2022, but issues over parenting decisions continue to cause tension between them.
