Kylian Mbappe has expressed his happiness at the idea of Zinedine Zidane becoming the next manager of the France national team.
Didier Deschamps, the current manager, has already confirmed that he will leave his position after the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Zidane, a former Real Madrid coach, is one of the names linked to the job.
Speaking to TF1, Mbappe made it clear that he is not the one making the decision. He said, “It’s not my job to decide who will replace Deschamps. I try not to talk about it too much. There is already a manager in place, and we have to respect him.”
The French captain also shared his admiration for Zidane but insisted that Deschamps deserves respect. “I have always shown my love for Zidane, but we must respect those who are currently in charge. If Zidane becomes the manager, I would be extremely happy, but it’s not my decision.”
Mbappe recently rejoined the national team after Deschamps named him in the squad for France’s Nations League quarter-finals against Croatia.
