Liverpool star Mohamed Salah had a disappointing game as his team lost 2-1 to Newcastle United in the FA Cup final on Sunday. The Egyptian forward could not make an impact as Newcastle secured the win at Wembley.
Despite having a great season with 32 goals and 22 assists, Salah struggled in this match. Newcastle took the lead with goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak. Federico Chiesa managed to score for Liverpool in injury time, but it was not enough to change the result.
One surprising fact about Salah’s performance was that he only had 23 touches of the ball and did not attempt a single shot or create a chance. According to Opta, this was the first time in his Liverpool career that he failed to do so when playing a full 90-minute game.
Liverpool will now focus on winning the Premier League, where they are currently 12 points ahead of Arsenal. They are also out of the UEFA Champions League after losing to Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16.
