The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for recognizing two outstanding students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). The governor recently appointed Samuel Badekale and Haroun Adebakin as education ambassadors for Ogun State.
Both students graduated with a perfect 5.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) during UNILAG’s 55th convocation. During a ceremony at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun presented them with N10 million each.
He praised them for their hard work and said their achievements make Ogun State proud.
In response, NAOSS, in a statement signed by its National President, Kehinde Thomas, and Public Relations Officer, Olubodun Lekan, expressed gratitude to the governor. They believe this recognition will inspire other students in the state to strive for academic excellence.
NAOSS described Governor Abiodun as a leader with a big heart who continues to support education in Ogun. They highlighted his administration’s efforts, including the payment of bursaries and improvements in state-owned higher institutions.
The student body also noted that the governor does not limit his rewards to indigenes alone. Many students from other states studying in Ogun-owned institutions have benefited from his generosity.
Since taking office in 2019, Governor Abiodun has made significant contributions to education. Unlike his predecessors, he has attended almost every convocation ceremony in the state, personally recognizing outstanding graduates.
NAOSS believes that rewarding students like Adebakin and Badekale will motivate them to continue excelling. Their achievements bring global recognition to Ogun State, proving that hard work is always rewarded.
Governor Abiodun’s continuous investment in education is setting a strong example for other leaders, ensuring that Ogun remains a beacon of academic excellence in Nigeria.
