Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has spoken about some of the weirdest rumors he has heard about himself online.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rema revealed that people have spread false stories accusing him of being part of the Illuminati, worshipping the devil, and even drinking blood.

The singer admitted that these rumors have led to him losing some fans, as many people believe whatever they read on the internet.

“Random stories have been made up about me being Illuminati, worshipping the devil, and drinking blood. I definitely lose some fans who just believe anything they see,” Rema shared.

He also explained the reason behind the pendants he wears, which are in memory of his late father and brother.

“It was just a dark moment that changed my life, so I always wear this chain—mostly because I never want to forget. While any craziness or any fantastic sh*t is happening, I always remind myself, ‘Know the struggles you came from,’ because, for real, people be forgetting,” he said.

Despite the false rumors, Rema remains focused on his music and personal journey.
