Nigerian singer Asake has reacted after his father, Fatai Odunsi, accused him of cutting ties since 2022.

In a viral video, Odunsi, also known as Malo, claimed he is Asake’s biological father and revealed that the singer stopped answering his calls after he suffered a stroke. He said the last time he saw Asake was on March 29, 2022, and that he is now reaching out to the public for help.

“I am Asake’s father. I gave birth to him. Since I had a stroke, I haven’t seen him. He doesn’t pick my calls. Please, I only need your help,” Odunsi pleaded in the video.

In response, Asake seemingly addressed the issue through a song. Singing in Yoruba, he expressed that people cannot be pleased no matter what one does. He mentioned that even his father is trying to pressure him, but he remains strong.

“You can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God. Even my father wants to cajole me, but I stand firm. I used to press money for him, and I did it with a good heart. If you strike, I will move on,” Asake sang.

A previous viral video also showed that Asake once gifted his father a car, indicating that he has supported him in the past.

The situation has sparked mixed reactions, with fans sharing different opinions on social media.
