Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out of the upcoming League Cup final due to an injury. Manager Arne Slot confirmed on Friday, March 14, that the England international will not be fit in time for the match.
“Trent is not available. He will not be there at the final,” Slot told reporters. “We are still checking how long he will be out, but we expect him to return before the end of the season.”
Because of his injury, Alexander-Arnold has also been left out of England’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. England’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, confirmed this decision on Friday.
Despite this setback, Liverpool remains focused on winning their first trophy under Slot’s leadership. The team is also in a strong position in the Premier League, leading the table by 15 points.
Liverpool fans will now be waiting for updates on Alexander-Arnold’s recovery, hoping he can return to help the team in their fight for multiple trophies this season.
