Popular TikTok streamer Peller is being criticized on social media for calling Nigerian Afrobeats star Runtown an “up-and-coming artist.”
During a recent livestream, Peller’s co-host suggested featuring Runtown. However, Peller rejected the idea, saying he only wanted successful artists on his stream.
“Who is Runtown? That one never blow. We no know am. Give me another person. Don’t bring upcoming artists on my live video. I want big stars,” he said.
His comments angered many fans, who accused him of disrespecting Runtown, a well-known Afrobeats artist. Many pointed out that Runtown has made major contributions to the music industry, especially with hits like “Gallardo” (2014) and “Mad Over You” (2016), which gained international fame.
Peller has previously hosted famous Nigerian artists like Olamide, Tiwa Savage, and Davido on his streams. However, this time, his words sparked backlash, with many defending Runtown’s legacy in Afrobeats.
