Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has made it clear that he is not leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite the ongoing crisis. Speaking in Abuja, Wike stated that he does not run away from challenges and is prepared to fight for the party’s future.
He criticized PDP governors, accusing them of not using their resources to strengthen the party. He particularly called out the Governor of Enugu State, saying he failed to ensure that the PDP had a candidate for the upcoming Anambra governorship election.
“The governors have money, but they are not spending it wisely on the party,” Wike said. “Look at the Enugu governor—he wants to be the leader of the South East, but leadership requires sacrifices. Today, in Anambra, PDP has no governorship candidate. How can that happen?”
Wike’s comments highlight the deep divisions within the PDP as the party struggles with internal conflicts. His strong stance suggests he is ready to challenge the current leadership to ensure the party remains competitive in future elections.
