Ibrahim Chatta is reason I’m still in Nollywood – Actor Apa

Nigerian actor Sanusi Izihaq, also known as Apa, has shared how Ibrahim Chatta played a big role in keeping him in the Nollywood industry.

Apa, who started as a Continuity Manager before becoming an actor, opened up about his struggles in Nollywood. He recalled a difficult time when a director, whom he had never met, threatened to make things hard for him. This situation made him emotional, and he even thought about quitting acting.

During an interview on the Talk to B podcast with Biola Bayo, Apa revealed that he cried because of the toxic work environment. Ibrahim Chatta saw him crying multiple times and always encouraged him to stay.

“Big shoutout to Ibrahim Chatta. I would have left Nollywood if not for him. There was a time a director, who had only heard about me but never met me, decided to deal with me.

I wanted to work with him, but the situation became tense, and I don’t like toxic environments, so I became emotional and cried,” Apa said.

He explained that Chatta always advised him and refused to let him leave Nollywood.

“I have quit filmmaking three times, but Ibrahim Chatta kept calling me back to work on his projects. He didn’t want me to give up,” he added.

Apa’s story shows how important it is to have supportive people in the industry. Thanks to Ibrahim Chatta, he continues to pursue his acting career in Nollywood.
