Armed bandits attacked three communities in Katsina State on Monday night, killing several people and stealing a large number of cattle. The affected villages—Kunduru, Kirtawa, and Farfaru—were raided in a well-coordinated assault.
A security expert, Bakatsine, first reported the attack on his X (Twitter) handle. Another analyst, Zagazola Makama, confirmed the incident and described the destruction caused by the armed men.
According to reports, the bandits stormed the villages late at night, firing their weapons randomly and taking livestock. Many people were killed, and residents fled their homes in fear.
In another attack on the same night, bandits raided Unguwar Dogo, a village in the Kunduru District of Kankia Local Government Area. They killed two people, injured one, and escaped before security forces arrived.
Security personnel, along with local vigilantes, responded quickly after receiving a distress call. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, the attackers had already fled into the forest. The victims were taken to General Hospital, Kankia, where two were confirmed dead, and the injured person is receiving treatment.
Authorities have since increased patrols and surveillance in the affected areas to prevent further attacks and track down the criminals.
