Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has responded to the accusations of s#xual harassment against the current Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. The claims were made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central.
In a statement titled “Akpabio-Natasha: Let’s Protect the Institution, Not Individuals,” Saraki called for a fair and transparent investigation. He suggested that the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions should handle the case openly to find the truth.
Saraki, who led the Eighth Senate, stressed that an honest investigation is necessary. He warned that without it, the Senate could appear to support s#xual harassment, gender discrimination, abuse of power, and disorder.
