Teebillz, who is the ex-husband of popular singer Tiwa Savage, has publicly apologized to media personality Toke Makinwa. He had earlier criticized her for commenting on the divorce of Nigerian music star 2Baba and his wife, Annie Idibia.

Toke Makinwa was among the first celebrities to react to 2Baba’s divorce announcement on January 26, 2025. She had warned the singer to be ready for backlash from her and others for ending his marriage with Annie.

Teebillz did not take her remarks lightly and warned her to stay out of people’s family matters. He also suggested that she had not reached the level of love and forgiveness that many women in similar situations have shown.

His reaction stirred discussions online, with many speculating that it could affect his friendship with Toke, especially since she is close to his ex-wife, Tiwa Savage.

However, in a surprising turn, Teebillz took to Instagram on Saturday to admit he had overreacted. He explained that his strong emotions came from his love for 2Baba and Annie. He acknowledged that his reaction was based on old information and a lack of understanding of the current situation.

Teebillz sincerely asked for Toke Makinwa’s forgiveness and even expressed his desire to apologize to her privately. He admitted that he had acted in the same way he accused her of behaving.

His statement read:

“My sincere apologies to TM [Toke Makinwa]. I jumped the gun and goofed. I honestly acted out of character bcos of the unconditional love I have for Annie and King 2. My action was based on expired knowledge and lack of understanding of the current occurrences.

“I hope you spare my ignorance. Hopefully, I get the chance to privately apologise to sort our differences. My action was exactly what I accused you of. Hope you forgive my emotional incompetence pls @tokemakinwa.”

With this apology, fans are eager to see if Toke Makinwa will respond and whether the two will settle their differences.
