Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has suggested that Chelsea forward Cole Palmer could be a good replacement for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.
Palmer, 22, has been Chelsea’s standout player this season because of his hard work and consistency. However, his recent drop in form has raised questions about his future at the club.
Despite this, Yorke told CasinoBeats that he does not see Palmer pushing for a transfer, even if Chelsea fails to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
“He doesn’t seem like the type of player who would demand to leave Chelsea just because they miss out on Champions League football,” Yorke said.
The former Man United star pointed out that Palmer has rebuilt his career at Chelsea and is now the club’s key player. He questioned why Palmer would want to leave when he has become such an important figure at Stamford Bridge.
Yorke also analyzed possible destinations for the young forward. He ruled out a move to Arsenal, as Bukayo Saka plays in a similar role. A transfer to Manchester United also seems unlikely because Palmer is a former Manchester City player.
However, Yorke believes Liverpool could be an option if Salah decides to leave. In that case, Palmer might be considered as a replacement for the Egyptian star.
