Serie A: Gasperini aims another swipe at Lookman

Atalanta’s head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, has once again criticized Ademola Lookman, continuing their recent dispute. The tension started last week when Atalanta was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League.

Gasperini blamed Lookman for missing a penalty, which upset the Nigerian forward. Lookman responded by calling his manager’s comments disrespectful.

Even after Atalanta’s 5-0 victory over Empoli on Sunday night, Gasperini did not hold back. Speaking in a press conference, he acknowledged Lookman’s talent but pointed out that the player also benefits from the team.

“Lookman has always been a great goal scorer since joining Atalanta. He has become an extraordinary player, especially when he plays for the team,” Gasperini said. He also mentioned that he appreciates Lookman’s bond with the fans.

It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold, but for now, the tension between Lookman and Gasperini is still present despite the team’s success.
