Zamfara Govt assures Talata Mafara explosive victims of full medical support

The Zamfara State Government has promised full medical support for victims of the recent explosion in Talata Mafara.

A government delegation, led by Health Commissioner Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, visited the victims at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) in Sokoto.

The explosion, suspected to have been caused by gunpowder, happened in the Talata Mafara main market, affecting traders and disrupting businesses.

During the visit, the government team delivered medical supplies and assured victims that their treatment costs would be covered.

Dr. Maradun stated that the Zamfara State Government would take care of all medical expenses, including medicines, food for patients and caregivers, and transportation after their discharge. She also urged individuals and organizations to support the victims’ recovery.

Additionally, she mentioned that the government had allocated a weekly food allowance for the victims and their caregivers. She offered prayers for those who lost their lives and wished the injured a quick recovery.

Professor Anas Ahmad Sabir, Chief Medical Director of UDUTH, thanked the government for its support and confirmed that the hospital had not charged any victim for treatment. He assured that UDUTH would continue to provide care until the victims recover.

Professor Usman Sani, who represented Professor Sabir, appreciated the government’s concern and called for more assistance to ensure the best treatment for the victims.

The victims and their families expressed their appreciation for the government’s prompt response. They prayed for those who supported them and hoped for continuous assistance.

With the government covering all medical expenses, the victims can focus on their recovery without financial stress. This swift intervention highlights Zamfara State’s commitment to the well-being of its people.
