Transfer: Boniface on Newcastle United radar

Newcastle United are looking to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface this summer. Reports say the Premier League club has already started talks with the Nigerian forward’s representatives.

Boniface, 24, is currently under contract with the German club until 2029. However, Bayer Leverkusen may allow him to leave if they receive a suitable offer.

Saudi club Al Nassr had shown interest in Boniface and even submitted a €70 million bid last month. But they later changed their plan and signed Aston Villa’s Colombian striker, Jhon Duran, instead.

Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise. Since then, he has been impressive, scoring 31 goals and providing 11 assists in 52 games across all competitions.

Newcastle United are now keen to bring him to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen if they can secure his signature.
