A tragic accident occurred on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Kara Under Bridge, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, leading to the death of a pedestrian, Auwalu Abdulkadir.

The incident happened when a Kia commercial bus, with registration number LAGOS MUS 200 YE, lost one of its tyres while in motion.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, was driving against traffic when the tyre detached and rolled away. Unfortunately, the tyre struck Auwalu Abdulkadir, a truck driver from Kano State, killing him on the spot.

According to Ogun State Police spokesperson CP Omolola Oditola, the driver of the Kia bus abandoned the vehicle and fled after the accident.

The police have urged all motorists to follow traffic laws and ensure regular vehicle maintenance to prevent such tragic incidents.
