Shakira resumes world tour after Lima hospital stay

Shakira is back on track with her world tour after a brief stay in the hospital in Lima. The Colombian pop star was hospitalized on Saturday night, leading to the cancellation of her concert on Sunday. However, she assured her fans that the show on Monday will still take place.

The concert at Lima’s National Stadium will begin at 8:15 pm, with the gates opening at 4:00 pm. While Shakira did not provide any updates on her health in her Instagram post, she confirmed the performance would continue as planned.

Event organizers, Masterlive, also confirmed that the Monday show would go ahead and shared that a new date for the canceled concert would be announced soon.

This world tour marks Shakira’s return after seven years. Titled “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), it kicked off in Rio de Janeiro, just after Shakira won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. She dedicated the award to U.S. migrants facing deportation under President Trump.

With over 90 million albums sold globally and multiple Grammy Awards, Shakira is one of the most iconic Latin artists. Her tour will see nearly 50 shows in Latin America by June, followed by performances in the United States and Canada.
