President Trump tells Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ‘do whatever you want’ regarding ceasefire deal with Hamas

President Donald Trump recently gave Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the freedom to decide the next steps in the ongoing ceasefire deal with Hamas.

Speaking to reporters after attending the Daytona 500, Trump revealed he told Netanyahu, “Do whatever you want” regarding the next phase of the agreement.

Trump had previously helped broker a ceasefire deal in January that focused on the release of Hamas hostages. When Hamas showed signs of not keeping its promises, Trump warned that the situation could worsen.

However, after his tough stance, Hamas delivered on its agreement and released the hostages, including an American citizen.

Now, as attention turns to the second phase of the deal, Trump said Netanyahu could determine the best course of action for Israel, but with his consultation.

Trump also updated the public on the condition of the freed prisoners, stating they are in better shape than those released the previous week, who looked like survivors of the Holocaust.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu issued a joint statement with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, outlining the shared strategy between the U.S. and Israel in dealing with Gaza.

The statement emphasized that both nations are committed to taking strong action against Hamas if they do not meet their obligations, including eliminating Hamas’ military capabilities and ensuring the return of all hostages.
