Zamfara Correctional Service gets new Controller

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has a new leader, Musa Tanko.

He replaces DCC Tanko Isah Ikoh, who served in an acting role after the retirement of former Controller Shehu Ibrahim.

The handover ceremony took place at the Federal Secretariat Complex in Gusau, the state capital. The announcement was made by the Command’s spokesman, ASC1 Mustapha Abubakar.

Musa Tanko, originally from Kaduna State, has built a strong career in the Nigerian Correctional Service.

Before this appointment, he was in charge of Operations and was the second-in-command to the Zonal Coordinator in Zone B, Kaduna.

He holds a degree in Education and a Master’s in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He has also attended several professional training programs, including courses in the United Kingdom and the United States in 2014 and 2016.

Musa also worked as a United Nations Mentor in post-conflict Liberia from 2009 to 2011, gaining valuable international experience.

In his first address to the staff, Controller Musa emphasized the importance of discipline, punctuality, and dedication to duty.

He urged workers to avoid absenteeism and assured them that his office would remain open for meaningful suggestions.

Musa thanked the Acting Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuce, for trusting him with this new responsibility. He promised to do his best in serving the Zamfara State Command.

Meanwhile, outgoing Acting Controller DCC Tanko Isah Ikoh praised the staff for their hard work and discipline during his time in charge.
