The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) Peace and Reconciliation Committee has called for mutual respect and political stability in Rivers State.
They emphasized the importance of prioritizing the wishes of the people in resolving political tensions.
Rufus George, Chairman of the Rivers Elders Forum, made this statement during a closed-door meeting in Port Harcourt.

The meeting mainly focused on fostering unity between the two political factions in the state. The committee also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the situation to ensure a peaceful resolution.
AnnKio Briggs, a Niger Delta activist, supported PANDEF’s efforts, emphasizing the need for political stability in Rivers State for the good of the nation.
She encouraged the committee to urge the presidency to engage Wike in finding a lasting solution.
Among those present at the meeting were PANDEF members such as former Akwa Ibom Governor Victor Attah, Senators Roland Owie, Emmanuel Essien, and Stella Omu, and several others.
