Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar met with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The meeting took place at Obasanjo’s residence, with several political figures in attendance.
Atiku was joined by former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke and ex-Sokoto State Governor Senator Aminu Tambuwal.
While the purpose of the meeting was not disclosed, it comes at a time when opposition politicians are strategizing for the 2027 presidential election.
There are speculations that they are working on forming an alliance to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This meeting follows Atiku’s recent discussions with Peter Obi, the former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, at his residence in Adamawa State.
The growing meetings among opposition leaders suggest possible political realignments ahead of the next election.
