Seaking Was Arrested Over Defamatory Comments Against Pastor Adeboye – Sowore

Popular Nigerian TikToker, Seaking, has been arrested for allegedly making defamatory comments about Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential aspirant, shared the news on his Facebook page. He revealed that he visited the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja with lawyer Deji Adeyanju, where they were informed about the reason for Seaking’s arrest.

According to Sowore, Seaking was re-arrested in Lagos on February 6 and flown to Abuja. His arrest followed a petition from one Paul James Adama, reportedly acting on behalf of Pastor Adeboye.

A review of Seaking’s TikTok page showed that in December, he posted videos criticizing Pastor Adeboye. In those videos, he verbally attacked the pastor for wearing military camouflage during the church’s convention last August.

He also reacted to Adeboye’s comment suggesting Nigerians should be happy about the dollar rising to ₦10,000.

The arrest has sparked discussions on social media, with some supporting Seaking’s right to free speech and others defending Pastor Adeboye. The authorities have yet to release an official statement on the case.
